Hi again,
Yet another new chicken ailment I am coming across. I have a hen who is showing signs of canker. Horrible smell, yellowish gunk in left corner of mouth, hungry but struggling to eat, still drinks but starting to have an issue. It's been about 4 days now. I can't get into a vet until Monday and I'm worried she won't make it until then.
I just picked up some Seachem Metroplex powder. It is 70% metronidazole and I can't find any information on dosage. I'm plan on getting some ACS as well but I want to start treating her ASAP and the Metroplex is what I currently have on hand. I'm also struggling to find the ACS near me so I might have to order that as well. So any advice on dosage? I've only come across dosage for the pills or for the 20% powder. Any help would be appreciated.
I've also started her on some doxycycline, I've read that is also used but I worry.
Thanks in advance for any help.
