Canker and Seachem Metroplex 70% Metronidazole

It's not nearly touchy enough unfortunately. I've been meaning to go buy a better one for awhile now, I just haven't gotten around to it. I'm going to pick one up in an hour or two.
Well I now have a functioning scale. The bottle comes with a scoop and that scoop is equal to 160g.

Are you sure that the scoop is 160 grams or milligrams? Just asking because most of the bottles say they have 100 grams. Metronidazole dosage is 50 mg per pound or 250 mg for a 5 pound bird.

My bad, the entire bottle has 160g of the metronidazole.

So, bit of an update, albeit not one I'd like to be making. We took her to the vet the same day I posted this thread. They weren't sure what the issue was but gave us an antifungal med and some meloxicam for pain. Also removed the stuff in her mouth and sent her home bleeding. Definitely not going back there, but anyway, meds did nothing. They think it's cancer. I've been giving her the metronidazole which seemed to help at first but isn't anymore. I'm still waiting on the ACS to get here. No idea why it's taking so long. I'm at the point where I feel like she should probably be put down. She's struggling to drink, let alone eat, without help. I just don't know what to do to go about it, the most humane way possible. This is breaking my heart.

So the vet thought it was cancer, or canker? Sorry that she is struggling and worse. Sometimes we have to end their suffering. Let us know how she gets along. Do you think that you could have your state vet do a necropsy if you lose her or put her down? The body must be kept cold, but not frozen. They would be able to test the tissue and tell you what it was. Here is a list of state vets if you need it:

The vet thinks it's cancer, not canker. They offered to do more tests but wanted $1000. Which is absolutely insane to me. I will definitely look into it, because I'm curious myself. I feel like if it is canker, her coop mates would be showing signs by this point since it's contagious through spit and they shared water containers. Unless it has a longer incubation period? I don't know. I should learn how to euthanize a chicken properly just in case I ever have to deal with a sick one again. Which, I have 20, so the possibility is there. I just hate it. You'd think I'd be used to it with having animals over the years and it feels like it's getting harder.

It is so strange nowadays that vets cannot make a slide of the tissue, and look at it under a microscope. I’m sure he took microbiology at some point. They send everything out to labs anymore. A necropsy would be the best way to find out what it is, but each state is a little different. What state are you in?
