Canker right before vacation!! :/

three of my hens have canker. I’m going away on the tenth of August and I cannot leave it untreated. I have sitters that will be caring for the chickens, but prying open the hens mouths is a real challenge sometimes and I don’t know if they can do it. I was wondering if I could put anything in their water to at least hold it at bay right where it is so that I can continue treatment when I return (on the 24th)?
 
I haven’t treated canker, but others here have experience with it. Are you sure that it couldn’t posssibly be wet fowl pox or a respiratory infection or sinus infection causing the plaques in the beak? Does it smell bad? Many use acidified copper sulfate 1/4 tsp per gallon of water as a preventative in flocks with canker. I doubt that would work as a treatment though. Most use metronidazole (Fish Zole) available online in 250 mg tablets to treat it. Dosage is 250 mg daily per bird given orally for 5-6 days. Pigeon supply companies also see canker treatments that can go into the water. Most contain metronidazole. Here is a good place to start:
