Am looking for advise from other chicken owners. Went to the fair in sept 2012 and left with 3 roosters. I have never had them before but my husband has wanted them forever so we finally broke down and bought them. Well we fell in love anyways our chicken family has grown and these are like our dog they peck on the door in the am and come inside at night. Anyways we notice one of our roosters was limping. I checked and saw no wounds so I said could be a break could be a strain so I looked up info some say splint it some say dont so we just wanted to see if it would heal at night put him on a heating pad and he would be fine in the morning. Now he can not walk at all. His right foot curls and he uses his wings to balance him out so we brought him in. I looked up info then called the vets. They gave him pain medication but dont know what is wrong so I took to the local farm store where we purchase chickens and they dont know what it could be. Its weird cause he can lay on his side and push off with his feet but he cant stand. His wings are fine he just cant stand. Many say just kill him but I cant I can not kill my pet unless that really is the only thing. So please if you think of anything can I get help......
