Capon? Caponizing?

I ordered a bunch of sexed CornishX and Dark Cornish chicks. They are all 4 weeks old. I have a CornishX rooster. He has long legs and a big red comb. (does anyone want pictures?) Anyway, he is about the body size of the Dark Cornish chicks. If I caponize him, will he get big like the hens? We are not allowed to have roosters here, so I want to know if I should snip his bits or his neck before he is old enough to crow.

If he's a cornish-x he'll be ready to process before he crows.

As I said, he is about the size of the Dark Cornish. I don't think he will be ready to process at the same time as the CornishX hens. I took this today. They are not yet a month old.

So, I will ask again, if I snip his bits, will he catch up to the hens? Or at least not crow until he is ready to be processed?

I wonder if I should put him in a "What breed is this?" thread.
