Hi, I know there are lots of threads mentioning this, but I haven't found the information I am looking for.

Basically, my birds have lice and possibly mites as well. Carbaryl 5% powder (aka Sevin) is all that is available in my area. What I would like to know - before I splash this stuff all over my coop and run and birds - is if the eggs are still safe to eat? I've found the information that it should be used more than 7 days before slaughter - but I want to know about the eggs. Also, I try to avoid pesticide chemicals in my garden - so if I use this stuff all over my coop, can I then still put the bedding into the compost? Will it break down/ wash away so it's not in my vegetables?

Thanks for any tips.
