Cardboard quail egg boxes

Hi there!

Does anyone know a supplier for cardboard quail egg boxes for jumbo sized quail eggs? I bought some off egg boxes off Amazon but they are much too small, I didn't realize my quail were laying seemingly huge eggs! I have a seen a few plastic egg boxes labeled as jumbo, but I would prefer to use cardboard.

I've only ever seen plastic Quail boxes

I've seen cardboard ones, but they are prohibitively expensive.

There are a few sites on the web that sell them but they as @Nabiki has mentioned, 'cost prohibited". I have several that were sent with orders.

So I just googled the average weight of a quail egg & it's 9-10g, mine are coming in at 14-16g, no wonder my eggs won't fit in the regular sized boxes! I would assume I'd have the same issue if I ordered the plastic ones, I thought about bantam egg boxes, but seems like they might be too big, any ideas?

How tech savvy are you? You could try buying a cutter and making your own out of cardstock.

I use an older version of the tool below. Find a pattern you like, then rescale it to quail sized eggs. I can help you if you decide to go that route. Since I'm not selling eggs, I put them in a drink cup and fill it up to give away. Much easier.

BTW, I use this tool as much as I use a printer, so over time it's been worth it. You'd have to use it a bit to justify the cost.

I ordered from myshire and my eggs are on the bigger size as well. They fit the jumbo eggs fine. No issues.
