Not sure where this should be posted.

I'm not asking about hatching eggs. I was wondering about egg care. Do you refrigerate your eggs or leave them at room temperature? I have been putting mine in the refrigerator, but was told today that you should leave them at room temp. They said eggs left out will keep much longer than ones refrigerated. They said once you put them in a refrigerator, the eggs have a very short life span (how long they stay safe to eat).

They've gotten it exactly backwards. Eggs will last MUCH longer in the refrigerator. Though they do lose quality over time (this does not necessarily mean they become unsafe to eat).

But if you're going to eat the eggs within a week or two then so long as your kitchen isn't really hot it doesn't make much difference either way. It's only when the store time begins to stretch into weeks that refrigeration becomes increasingly important.

I leave mine out that way if I decide I have plenty for eating I can always select a few for incubating
