Carefresh As Nesting Material?

Hi everyone.

I just got a small flock of chickens and am debating on what nesting material to use. I have access to straw/hay and other materials, but I have a large 50ltr bag of carefresh bedding on hand. Would this be safe to use on chickens, or would they eat it and suffocate? On the bag, it says it can be used on birds, but I want to be safe. Please answer soon! Thanks.

It should be safe, if it doesn't have ink on it. However, I hear from most that using paper doesn't often work well.
