Seeking a live-in caretaker to assist with caring for our poultry, gardens and property. While most people on BYC have their own home and birds, someone may know of a friend for whom this would be the ideal situation. Looking for a reliable individual who loves poultry and plants to help out for 2-3 hours per day in exchange for living space, utilities, some extras and able to care for all independently from time to time so we can take vacation. We have a small separate furnished guest room, with cooking area and separate bathroom for the caretaker. Very appropriate for a retired individual or someone who works part time at most and likes working with poultry (chickens and turkeys) and plants (organic vegetable and fruit tree garden, landscaping and cacti). Must be able to live simply and sustainably, like the desert heat, be a self-starter, non-smoker, no outdoor dogs or cats. Our guest room space is too small for a couple unless you like to live in close quarters. We prefer long term but will consider anything. Don't want to give up the poultry hobby, but I need a break!
