I have a 10 month old rooster with a curled foot from a bad hatch. Both feet were curled but only one responded to correction.
I decided to keep and raise him because he is a rare variety of a rare breed, irreplaceable in the breeding program, and he should breed physically normal offspring. He became a family pet and he has gotten around fine for ten months with no signs of discomfort, however recently he has been in the sick bay for an ear infection and since he's been standing in the crate so much, his foot is sore and bothering him.
I'm looking for resources and support around caring for him, eg. ways to alleviate pressure on the foot, modifications to his environment. Have had a search on here but can only pull up info on freshly hatched chicks. TIA.
