Been raising my chickens for about a year, but this issue just started recently.
I’ve discovered two smashed eggs in a couple weeks just as one of my hens went broody.
I’ve been busy at work recently so I’ve only been collecting eggs every couple days. Normal amount of good eggs, but one smashed completely about once a week.
Is it more likely that she’s crushing one accidentally or eating one?
If I collect daily again, would this help?
They’re provided good quality feed and oyster shell in a side container so I don’t think they’re short on calcium or other nutrients, they’re actually pretty spoiled ha.
