Morning, two days ago we brought home six baby chicks 2 weeks old. Must keep inside until 7 weeks. Secured them in room in a tub w/ food, heat and water. Woke this morning to my cat that retrieved one from the tub and it is now not moving very much, but still chirping. Can see two puncture marks that I have applied neo-sporn too. Separated the chick from the rest and have heat lamp. It's 6 am in the morning and vet doesn't open until 9am. Any suggestions?

keep her warm because she's probably in shock
maybe offer some sugar water. keep her in low stress environment . hopefully she will bounce back. keep an eye on her until vet opens. good luck
make sure to keep her warn for shock. keep us posted on how she's doing. best wishes!

Thank you for responding so quickly. Will a city vet know what to do? What are the deterioration signs.

Thank you. She was doing really good until yesterday when she started limping. I have examined the leg but see nothing. Still eating & drinking. Could it be an infection? Any suggestions?

thank you! She was doing better until yesterday when I notice her favoring one of her legs. Any suggestions?

Appreciate the sound advice. Our patient was doing better until yesterday when she started holding up one of her legs. This is anew development. Still eating and drinking and I put her back with the group. I have tried epson salt bath on the feet and watkin sauve on the bottom. Any suggestions from the more experienced chicken caretakers than I?

I am happy to report four months have gone by and my Cat Attack Rhode Island Red is doing just fine. In fact she is the most curious one of the bunch. I did take her to the vets to get three antibiotics which made a vast improvement in her condition. The side effect of the situation is that she pokes us now. Not all the time, but she is the only that does.

Thanks for all the swift advise I received I did use everyones suggestions as a measure to provide comfort.

:)
