Cat food?

Is it OK for chickens to eat cat food? They discovered some recently and loved it. It wouldn't be anything more than an occasional treat.

Occasional treat, very occasional - Yes. But it's best to give them cat food that isn't cheap and filled with grains.

Cat food on a normal diet isn't great though as it is much too high in protein.

thanks. Nice looking eggs in that pic. What breed layed the olive coloured ones and which the realy dark brown?

Dark brown = Black Copper Marans

Olive = olive egger ; Marans x Araucana. Working on 2nd gen to get a darker green.
