Cat Litter Bucket as a Waterer?

I finally bought some chicken water nipples last night and this afternoon, I'm going to make a plastic bucket waterer for the chicks. I looked for the answer but obviously could not find it. Can I use an empty cat litter bucket to water my chicks? Thanks for the input.

You can use any bucket as long as it is clean and does not leak. I suggest washing the bucket with a bleach water solution, then do a final rinse with plain water.

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure there was no leeching of toxic something from the cat litter bucket into the chick's water!
