Thought I might as well get in on the quilt picture posting too. Here's one Granny made for a queen sized bed. She made six of them in the last 5 years and is currently working on one for my oldest son. She and Hope both are each working on one and I've had to help cut out about a gazillion blocks.

I just did some calculations on the quilt. The are 575 blocks. Each block starts as a 9" block that is fold several times and sewn creating a 5" block. Then a 2" block is sewn into that. A total of 6750' of thread is used in hand sewing the thing together.
