Cats vs Chicks

This May my family will be getting our first flock of chickens.

I have my concerns because we have 2 cats. One is a MAJOR hunter and we will need to do as much as we can to keep the chicks out of reach from him and in a cat proof container for as long as they're inside.

Any suggestions?

A large cat carrier worked for us. Our cats don't wanna be anywhere near a cat carrier, so it took awhile to get curious about it, then once they finally did get wondering, they couldn't get in to them, and i was able to train them using a water bottle to stay away from the birds.

Except you'd have to have room for my mom, sister, AND I...and maybe even another sister!
