Cayenne Pepper for Egg Production?

Has anyone tried adding cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to chicken feed to help boost egg production?

Did it work? How much do you add???

I never used it but older folks have told me it helps.

Yes I have.

I didn't experiment and I found that it did not boost egg production but it did make the yolks of my eggs more orangey.

At the time I was fermenting feed so I put enough cayenne pepper in the food to make it an orange color.

That was about a couple of tablespoons worth of cayenne pepper per day for my flock of eight.

I have 8 birds, 4 are laying and they’re definitely all old enough so with the shorter days and them not laying yet, I want to try it!

I have a flock of eight but I keep their food out 24/7. How much did you mix in?
