I have 3 Cayugas (A trio ) Their father is from a breeder in New York whom has past away that I forgot his name and the females are from Holderreads. I am thinking of ordering 15 Blue Cayugas from Sandhill and 10 Blacks from Holderreads. Then breed as many from my own as possible. Now How many should I keep for breeding mext year. Ive been thinking 4 Blue Females 6 Black females and THE BEST 2 Black males? 1 male / 5 females? Will that work?

That will probably work, especially in breeding season when the drake will become especially active. You can check at that point to see if all the eggs are getting fertilized, or watch to see that all the hens are all being bred. You never know what may happen for sure, occasionally drakes may reject a female. What a fun project, good luck!!
