Cedar Bedding

Hi I'm Rob. This will be my first post and I am new to raising quail. Ive read quite a bit online about them over the last few months but I just picked up my first twelve at auction a few days ago. I took a picture of my enclosure in the building process but I dont have a good one of it complete. It has a 1/2 hardware cloth floor above a 6in deep litter pan. I understand cedar is not a preferred bedding for quail to be sitting in but is that due to skin to cedar contact or respiratory issues? Because if its only an issue of the cedar oil on the quail feet I may use it as a litter. Then again if its a respiratory issue I'LL avoid it like the plague!
