Chalky egg shells?

I’ve recently noticed that some of my girls, my black copper marans, novagen, and welsummer, have started laying eggs that aren’t very colored, almost like they have a chalky coating on them. They are dull, pale, and not shiny like they used to be. All my chickens are less than a year old and have free choice oyster shell always available in addition to their feed. Any ideas why their eggs are starting to look like this?

The longer they lay the less pigment is applied. They seem to run out of it. As long as you are feeding a good ration and have oyster shells there's not much you can do.

Other things that can cause problems is incorrect lighting if you are adding extra lights, running out of water, and various respiratory diseases.

How old are birds?
What all and how exactly are you feeding?

....and......
Where in this world are you located?
Climate is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!
