chalky looking combs?

My pullets have a chalky look to their combs and top part of the beak, any idea why? Can heat have anything to do with it? Can't figure it out!

do you have any pics? it sounds like their combs are to dry, if you have any organic or baby moisturizer you could put a little bit of that on their combs and wattles.
