Chance to get a Chocolate turkey.. Yes or no?

I've read that they're rare, a very old type of turkey, and there's someone near me hatching Chocolates soon.. I'd have to be on a waiting list though as others have called in on her CL ad about the Chocolates. 1-4 weeks old are $15 and 5-8 weeks are $18 each, good price to buy?
I am really tempted to tell her to put me on the waiting list but my mom is getting radiology next month so driving me to the woman's ranch might not be possible. I could get a friend to take me but it is kind of a trip to her ranch and I don't want to use someone like that. Is it really worth it? I just want a Chocolate turkey (preferably a tom) soo bad.

What do you guys think? Please give me advice because my heart is torn. (I really love animals and I really love my family)

Family first. The turkey can wait. I would keep in contact with the CL person for the next batch. If you are wanting it for thanksgiving it might be a little late if you want it as a pet. The. The right time will come.
Just remember family is more important.
