I am watching closely a game hen that is now rearing a single chick. She started with fourteen. Initially she had a cluck that stressed the c and k and seemed to have more umph behind them. Now clucks shorter being more of a uck and not given as continously. Utterance seems more related to movement from place to place now. Hen with chick re-integrated with flock and chick seems inclined to hang with rooster that tidbits to it on occassion. Hen also not balling / fluffing up when rooster approaches. I think she is getting close allowing rooster to covering her again.
