Hello!
I recently changed the small lid I had as a starter watering place for the quails- water was drying too fast in heat lamp and they drank it all-to a normal quail/chicken water refilling dish. I added stones and the quails all drink from the side (don’t jump in at all) but I’m so scared of them drowning or tipping it over. I’m at work right now and all I can think of is them drowning or being soaked. They’re a week old and three times their birth size. Do you think they will be fine? None of the gaps are huge in the water dish and I don’t think they’re big enough to knock it over. Should I go home and put the little dish back in?? The bottle in the dish is about three-4 inches high, filled halfway, and the is about an inch wide and half an inch to a quarter inch (with rocks) deep. I made sure not to put it against a wall.

For my quail water bowls, when they're older, I use A small yoghurt tub and put small glass pebbles in it. It lasts for a day and I change it every morning. I haven't had any issues with drowning with it or tipping over. It could work at three weeks old if you were worried about a bottle tipping over however, They should be fine with the one they have.
