Do chickens care if their feed is changed, like to a different brand or whatever? i know with some animals you need to transition them from what they are used to to the new stuff. i get the impression that you don't need to with chickens, but since we are probably going to be changing brands soon, i thought i should make sure.

thanks in advance.

Usually you don't have to transition, but once in a while it matters. Easy enough to mix the feeds 50/50 until the old feed is gone then just go with the new stuff after that.

That's what I've always done. Funny. My chickens will get familiar with a layer ration, be enthusiastic about eating it, and surely as the sun rises, they eventually came to reject it. I'm having good luck with the current brand for the last 6 months.
