I have a Little Giant 9300 still air incubator, not used to the still air, the humidity indicator keeps changing without adding water. This morning it was 44 and in the afternoon it showed 68, is this normal?

I have this same incubator. Still air. I’m on my second batch of eggs.

I called the company and they told me their humidity reader does not read below 40%, so keep that in mind. You should calibrate a humidity readerSo you have one in with the eggs, at egg level.

For my 9300, I have it in a larger cardboard box that is about 1inch taller than the incubator to shield it from drafts. The plugs are out. The room humidity is approx 50%. Without water added, the incubator is around 30% humidity. I can add a small amount of water to raise inside humidity slightly, but anymore water, and it Jumps to 60%.

First hatch of 26 fertile eggs resulted in 22 chicks. This time I have 31 fertile eggs in there, on Day 9. Two look questionable right now, with 9 more days until lockdown.
