I have a odd situation. I’ve been researching and just haven’t been able to find a answer. Perhaps someone has experienced something similar.
My 3 year old Leghorn is now laying what I will call Pink Shelled eggs.
She’s just come out of her first stop in lay for molt (4 weeks).
Last years molt she didn’t completely stop slowed a bit and her eggs were always Snow White in color.
It’s been 2 weeks now that she’s starting to lay after her molt. Not everyday maybe 4 a week.
They’re a bit smaller (to be expected) each sequential egg is getting a bit bigger and she’s getting close to standard size (for her)
but the shell color is no longer white.
Any Ideas?

I don't know. I have a Muscovy hen who always starts her first clutch of the year this color-

And then towards the end of the clutch the eggs are just white. This is the only bird that I have had whose eggs changed colors.
How long does she lay the off colored eggs before they become her normal white color?

Sometimes it will take the first whole clutch before they become solid white. So around 20 days for this hen. Usually with a large gap in between the first and second clutch her first egg of the second clutch will be darker than her last egg of the first. I am assuming that in this case it has to do with nutrition because the eggs seem to build up more color the longer the time is between laying. By the end of the second clutch it is a struggle to tell the difference between her eggs and my rouen's eggs.
