changing their feed

You can feed them chic starter feed for the rest of their life. No harm would come. There are gradual feed changes that many peeps do as time passes. Many switch to layer feed for their hens when they start producing eggs. Peeps raising broilers choose grower feed to get to their bounty sooner. :he :gig Many individuals also choose feather fixer (slightly higher protein %) during molt.
If you have a mixed flock of hens and roosters, I suggest you choose a feed that is good for both. I use Alflock 2%calcium 18% protein. That is a good all around feed. I do provide cracked Oyster Shells, free-choice always. I don't have roosters,,,,,, but have part of my flock non laying due to GERIATRICS:old
When you do choose to purchase feed when you run out of your current,,, I suggest you try pellets instead of crumbles. That is the only thing I use. It seem to be better at NO WASTE.:thumbsup
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and:welcome
