It's my first time hatching chicks - this morning is day 20 and I woke up to 4 chicklets rolling around the incubator!

This is better than Christmas! They are very much alive and well and seemingly hopped up on speed. I'm using a brinsea eco 20 - my question is: Should I take these chicks out? There's still 13 eggs to go and it is already crazy and crowded in there!!!

nope, leave them in

they can go up to three days without food or water without harm; they're still absorbing what they need from the yolk

opening the incubator could affect the ones that haven't hatched yet, particularly those who have pipped, the resulting humidity drop can be devastating.

Ok! I'll just have to stop watching. So nerve-wracking!

I've already named the EE that hatched "Pecky" because it's pecking everything - other chicks, thermometer, pips on the eggs. It's hilarious!
