Is there any such thing? My six quackers go through more food than the seventeen chickens. I was thinking of buying feeder goldfish or minnows to supplement their diet. We have a pond but they're not allowed in there because of snappers. Thanks for any suggestions!

How much are your ducks eating?!

Where I live, the cheapest options are Purina’s duck feed, Purina’s flock raiser, and DuMOR’s duck feed. Also looks like Kalmbach might be pretty good depending on where you get it.

Feeder goldfish here are 50 for $10. Less expensive than chain pet stores but not cheaper than feed. Mine are gobbling a $25 bag of feed every 5 days right now so I feel your pain.

I either buy Kalmbach or Purina Duck feed, both are around $22 a bag and I go through about a bag a week. The ducks probably eat half of it.

I feed Purina duck in a dog dish placed in a large, plastic, Halloween candy bowl. Whatever food that gets pushed out of the first bowl lands in the second one. I don’t lose feed anyway. I supplement with vegetables I grow like lettuce, greens, tomatoes, etc.. I toss the vegetables, cut up, in their water dishes. They love lettuce soup and will gobble it up. But, if I try to hand them lettuce they pull up their little bills like “no, thank you”. You might try it. 🤷‍♀️
