Cheap rabbit bedding?

I've realized how expensive rabbit bedding is. 12 dollars for a small bag 22 for a large bag. Pretty expensive for not that much bedding. Anyone buy cheap rabbit bedding?

I use straw, a bale lasts a long time. As the base, I use sawdust. DH works at a truss company, so I have a ready supply for free.

When my Belldandy was inside I used news paper. I lined the dog kennel with it then I shredded some for her potty box.

$12 buck's for a small bag of what? That fluffy stuff they sell at pet stores? Wow, that IS expensive! I just use pine shavings, I get a big bale of it at Tractor Supply for $4.99. We have two rabbits, each in it's own hutch and they each use a litter box so it really cuts down on the amount of shavings I have to use. One bale lasts forever.​

I use pine shavings- same as my chicken coop. Actually BunBun is IN the coop with the chickens....

I agree with the wire bottom cage.

Pine and Cedar can cause respiratory issues.
I like Aspen, which is cheaper than alot of beddings out there.
I use Aspen and timothy hay for my rabbit's litter box.
