Who is tired of Sanford and wishes he would just shut up? Who else wants a wife of a prominant cheater to get up in public and say "he's a no-good louse, and I've changed the locks and hired the best divorce lawyer I can find." Why must this man go on and on? If I were his wife and he was talking about the love of his life yadda yadda yadda I would not be talking to him. UGGGHHHH!!!!!

I think that goes on within a marriage concerns the principals only, and everyone else should just butt out. If you must publically apologise, keep it short and to the point. "I used bad judgement and I am sorry I hurt my family." Done, finito, shut the heck up.

In the specific case of Sanford, lying about where he was and being out of contact should also be addressed. Then stop talking about it, resign or go on but just be quiet.

Sorry, rant over. Almost over, I still want these guys to learn that they will be caught, it is a choice not a "mistake" and I want at least one wife to say what she is really thinking.

Not sure which day it was, but Wed. or Thurs. of last week he did shut up and is no longer releasing any comments. I reckon the American-Statesman didn't cover it much, since he didn't issue a big statement, just refused all interviews.

If he should resign, the Lt. Governor will be a nightmare. So it's a case of the lesser of two weevils.

And it would be, in my opinion, good to close this thread. BYC is not really the place for politics.

It's very hard being a spouse in the public eye. If you're cheated on no matter where you go you are looked on with pity so you try and put a brave face forward. I'd flush him myself, but I'm not her position or getting the benefits from that marriage she is.
