Check this Incubator out!

Sunchick,
I was looking at this incubator, too. Interesting design. I like the plexiglass so you can view everything. It would also probably be easy to sterilize.

Are you going to bid on it?

Lori

My DH would kill me.

I was contemplating on bidding really hard for my classroom, but DH is having a huge issue with the amount of $$ I already spend on office supplies for it. I just managed to finagal some mille fleur eggs and frizzle eggs to hatch in the classroom as a "PROJECT" for another teacher. (I'm keeping the chicks ha ha ha)

Us poor teachers don't get too much lead money for supplies (ours hasn't even come in yet) and our school is so new that we have to beg PTO and our students for supplies. Which means some of the stuff we absolutely need comes out of our pockets.

Can you and the kids have a bake sale and raise the money for the incubator? I bet if you figured a way for the kids to pitch in, you could easily pay for it! Good luck

I am in the process of building an incubator for a teacher. I am thinking of using a clear rubber made container with a deviled egg tray in the bottom for the eggs. I am placing another clear container on the lid of the incubator that will house the fan and light. Everything will be see through. I know it will have a low insulating factor but I am hoping it will work. The kids will have a 360 degree view of the hatching process.

Sunchick, I hear you about not being able to get the supplies you need to teach your classes - I'm a teacher, too. I don't even want to think about how much personal money I spend. . . .

Maybe your class can build a bator as a science project? There are so many good plans on here. Also, try your high school FFA program - lots of times they have incubators. Maybe you could borrow one?

Good luck finding a way to hatch those eggs! I know yur students would enjoy it and learn some valuable things.

Lori

I'll have to look into that! I am letting the other teacher use my "personal" hova bator, which has small windows. I am

that nothing happens to it with the kids. I have been successful hatching out of it, I just drooled over that plexi glass one. That would be the quintessential bator for the classroom.
