checking if and egg is fertile

im sorry rooster-red i dont need to learn about candling eggs I need to see about finding out if an egg has a chick in it!

If you want to find out if an egg has a chick in it, you need to candle it. Look at the learning center on candling. Those are pictures of chicks are various stages of development.

Do you mean when you crack it open, how to tell if the egg is fertile? There won't be a chick in it until it is incubated for awhile and there is no way to tell from the outside of an egg if it is fertile until you incubate it and candle it or you crack it open and look for the bullseye on the yolk. oh thanks for the advice. but I figured it out by hearing the egg if it makes a sound, its fertile
