How many times a day do you check on a hen sitting on eggs? I can't stay away from her! I am fascinated by this whole process. lol

LOL!!

Best advice I can give you is this....stay away!! You broody will "take care of business" all on her own. Just make sure she has water and feed nearby...I wouldn't 'check' on her more than once a day. Do you know how many days she's been sitting?

This is day 3. It's going to be a long 3 weeks for me!!! lol

Remember, breathe!!!! It will be okay. It's surprising how broody hens just "know" what to do and when to do it. And don't panic if during this process you spot an egg that has been 'discarded' by the mother hen. They just seem to know when an egg is not viable.

I have an opinion question for you. My broody is a frizzle and I have a frizzle roo also. I think one of the eggs under her might be hers, but I'm not certain. Would you risk hatching it? I'm so on the fence. I hate the idea of a double frizzle but I would love a frizzle baby. I can't decide if it's worth the 25% chance or not.

Heck, give it a shot...you never know! If it hatches you just might have an adorable fuzzy-butt!!
