I heard or read that the space between the pelvis bones of a hen were a good indicator of whether a hen was laying. I measured some of mine and decided the two fingers were probably not, three were. I shut the two fingers up and next day had two eggs. from those two hens. I guess the measurement should be one finger width for a nonlayer. Right, Anybody? Thanks.

Umm I have never figured out where the pelvic bones are in a hen?
Does anyone have a photo or a drawing of this?

I found mine the easiest by laying my hen in my arm like a baby, holding her feet with that hand and feeling just to the front of her business end before getting to the stomach cavity. Guess that is hard to picture in your mind.
