Chesapeake Chicks

Hi, we are new to Raising Backyard Chickens. Our Coop/Run is coming this week. Getting ready to build the brooder andwondering if anyone knows of a good local place (Chesapeake, VA) to buy baby chicks?

I am in Chesapeake too! If you want some chicks I will have some Australorps chicks (pullets) on Friday.

I got mine back in jan at epps farm supply. They're located out in suffolk

I wound up going to EPPS Farm Supply. I got 2- Buff Orpingtons ('Penny' and 'Bernie'), 2- Silver Laced Wyandottes ('Lacey' and 'Katniss') and 1- Black Austrolaup ('Amy-Farrah-Fowler'....all one name).

My friend also got us an Easter Egger....which should be here this week.

We are loving the 'girls'. Bernie has adopted me and hops out of her brooder/cage and onto me when I open it up. She likes to snuggle.

That's sounds great! FYI if one of them does turn out to be a male, they said they would take them back and find a home for them. I'm starting to have concerns about one of mine, so that helped put my mind at ease since we can't have roosters
