So I have nearly 3 week old chicks. 6 of them in a big cardboard box brooder in my home office. I have screen material, like what’s used on screen doors and windows as a cover to the box and two little side windows on the box. I’m in my office 8 hours a day as I work from home and the box is about 5ft from my desk should I be worried about chick dander and dust? How harmful is it to breath?

"Harmful" to you depends on your allergies.

But the dust and dander get everywhere, and it's slightly acidic, so it's corrosive to books, papers, wood and wood finishes, and maybe other materials, too. And, if you don't wash them every few days, it can wear out cottons and eat into metal and metal finishes, especially if there is high humidity.

BTW, this opinion not based on science, just on experience. My brooders are now in the barn.
