Came to school this morning at 8 a.m. and one chick had pipped and zipped about 1/4 of the way. He got about 1/2 of the way by noon but since then not much more zipping. I am trying egg cartons for the first time and it is like he isn't able to turn himself around in the upright position to get the other side. People with experience with egg cartons, is this normal? I don't know exactly when he first pipped since it was during the night so I don't know how long he has been in the shell. Humidity is right around 65-70%. Should I lay him on his side or just leave him be? He is our only chick that has even pipped at this point and it is day 22 so we would really like him to pop out!
