Hi everyone!
My name is Gladys and my boyfriend, Nick and I are new chicken parents. We got our chick-a-dees mid-April during the pandemic lockdown. We didn't know this but we were given two mature chickens and two teenage (?) chickens - they were not laying eggs yet and their crowns were small.
We started with 4 chickens - Original Recipe, Extra Crispy, Teriyaki, and Buffalo.
OR and Teriyaki just passed away, a week between each other. We don't know the exact breed, but 3 are the same, and 1 is different. I posted photos below.
I think our favorite aspects of raising chickens are the eggs! and I love watching them. They have such funny personalities.
My other hobbies include equestrian sports, barre classes, volunteering, and art/crafts.
Nick and I live together with our puppy, Chewie, 2 hammies, Doug V and Dougette Zara, Betta fish Gary (who lives in a Spongebob themed tank), and our chick-a-dees!
I work in the sports industry and Nick works in entertainment.
I found BYC via google, but my friend, Laurie, who also have chickens mentioned your site and said it was a great resource.
