I meed help. Our hen has been broody for over 3 weeks. So we went to the local Feed Store got six chicks they are a about a week old today but very small, we removed her from her box and put her in a private one coop. As she was getting ready to fall asleep night had just hit we took the six chicks and introduce them we got them all tucked underneath her. At about midnight I heard the chicks chirping she had moved leaving them in the cold. When I tried to reintroduce them she picked out one so I remove the chicks. This morning I took the chicks outside I had already moved her out of the private pin. When she heard the chicks she came over to them making a low clucking sound, she wanted back in. She has been in the coop with them all day, lays next to them but won't let them actually near her all the way. She doesn't try to hurt them but the chicks I think are scared of her they stay together in the corner of the coop and She lays about 6in from them and just follows them around. What should I do?

Supervise closely and get a brooder box ready. If mama won’t allow the babies to warm up under her, then they will need a heat source. Good luck! Keep us posted!
I am very close lol. Havent gotten anything done today. I ended up making her another nest with a couple eggs to help her settle down
She started being a little more aggressive. 1 I think when I Disturbed her from her original Coupe and brooding box, I introduce the chicks when she wasn't in a true brooding State anymore! So I made her a quiet dark spot where she could relax. She wants the chicks because she keeps pecking at the wall to get towards them but she won't leave the nest I built her so I'm hoping she starts to relax and we'll try reintroducing them tonight. I am worried that maybe the chicks are a little too old at this point being 7 days today

It really seems like she's trying to Mother them and she pecks at them to get them into a bunch and then she leaves them there in a small Bunch but the moment one wanders off she goes and pecks next to it, scares it until it goes back to the rest of them. I think she is a very unexperienced mom and I have to separate them. But when I separate them she starts pulling all her feathers out and gets very anxious!
