chick bedding question

Hi Folks,

So my new chicken house will be built next week - yippie!!! Is it okay to use pine shavings on the flooring, or do I need to stick w/ straw?

I use pine shavings and have been for the past 8-9 months.

Though I would have to say hay sounds easier to clean. Shavings is quite a task when it comes to clean up time.
As long as they are not cedar as some chickens can have a reaction to cedar.
