I was given an orphaned chick from a nearby farm, but I have no idea what breed she is. I thought she may be a type of Wyandotte, but she doesn't seem to have enough white. It's possible she's mixed breed because I have no idea who the parents were.

Possibly a mixed breed, but to me it resembles a Barred Rock or Dominique. I do agree though that it is unlikely to be a Wyandotte.

Given the straight comb, he's probably a Barred Rock or a Barred Rock cross with another barred breed. Because of how much white he has, it looks like he has two copies of the barring gene, which is only possible in males that are pure for barring. Or he could be crossed with something (wheaten?) that enhances the white expression.

What sort of chickens did the farm have? Do they know what their roosters are?

Considering Barred Rocks and other pure Barred breeds don't sport dark legs like this one, I'm thinking a cute mix. :)

Really? My BPR has dark wash on her legs. Or maybe I have a mix????

This one looks like my girl did, except for the added white (of course). I'm trying to learn about identifying the different breeds, so I find this very interesting.

Whatever the breed, it's very cute!!!:love

Slate wash on yellow legs is quite common in BRs, so no worries. :) Though it could be the lighting, these look willow green.

Certainly cute! :love
