My 9 week old Orpington got caught in a rat trap today 
her leg is definitely broken and her foot is purple and cold. I don't know how long she was stuck since I was at work. I am devastated as I'm sure she is also. I gave her some baby aspirin and splinted her foot/leg with a bent to shape finger splint and gauze. It's broken right at the ankle between her foot and leg. I don't know how well the splint will work or even if she'll survive? There's not a large bleeding wound, but her foot is sooooo swollen. Can anyone help?? Will her foot or toes fall off? Only her rear toe is warm, the rest are cold and completely blue/purple. I wrapped it from the bend in her leg all the way until her toes are sticking out. Tried not to wrap too tight since her foot is so swollen. Aside from the vet visit I can't do, should I just keep it splinted?
