My 9 day old chick passed away today and yesterday I found her lying down and cold in there cage. She wasn't really eating and drinking yesterday. So I warmed her up with a heating pad and put her back in with the other chicks because I didn't see anything wrong with her. Today I found her dead on the ground of her cage and I don't know what happened. She was a silkie astrolorp mix. Also other than yesterday she's been pretty lively and was eating and drinking.

Sometimes chicks have internal issues that aren't apparent but can be fatal, and you just never know why they died.

I'm sorry you lost your chick. Fly high and free, little one.

Hugs for you.

I’m sorry you lost that chick but I have had similar problems. It’s just hard to get them through that first 90 days.

So sorry! Even with the best care some don't make it.

I've started really watching my little ones to make sure all are eating and drinking and no pasty butt for the first month. Things can change so fast and sometimes there isn't much you can do to help them.
