We hatched our first quail chicks today. I own a Brinsea poly hatch auto turn incubator but unfortunately one of the chicks fell over the side, somehow got it’s head wedged under the tray they sit on and drowned. I’m gutted I didn’t spot what was happening in time. Has anyone got any advice as to how to stop this happening again? I had left some of the bars either side to try and prevent chicks from falling down the gaps.

Do you have a picture of your incubator? I put sponges in the humidity trays, can you do that?
