well I have been keeping some chicks a few months old and are in the adolescent stage of their growth. today I found a brown leathery egg that when I opened there was no yolk. I remembered when I kept ducks that they would lay very small eggs and then they would have no yolk inside. it had like a rubbery shell.. was this an early egg from a chick or was it a snake egg?

Yeh, thats a chicken egg. A friend of ours had the same problem. I totally agree they wouldn't lay in the chickens nest box and they lay more than one.
Hope it helped!

Put it in the bator and find out.

Sorry, that would be so freaky to have a snake hatch in your bator when you expect chicks.

The chicks are too young too be laying eggs, but it might possibly be just a fluke.

P.s. I found it on the floor, not the nest box.
