Two of my three chicks keep getting pasty butt. Could it be the feed?
Photos of the feed bag below.
Thanks for your help.

It isn't feed. It is most likely due to the gut biome imbalance. It can be from getting chilled or too hot but most likely it is a digestive issue.
I put Gro2Max probiotic powder in all chicks first water and periodically thereafter.
I haven't had a case of pasted vent in the years since I've been using it.
It is formulated specifically for chickens with a blend of good bacteria and yeasts.

Well it's happening in two different 'flocks'
One chick is under a broody hen. The other is in my brooder. The only thing the same is the food, I'd assumed.
Would apple cider vinegar help?
I have given oats because apparently they help.
I can't get the probiotic powder online. I wonder if my local pet store would have it. I get my chick feed from there.

due to temperatures.
Even the one under the broody hen?
Each time it's happened I haven't managed to get it 100% off. I was thinking if it's partly still there it's more likely to happen.
They're happy anyway, and I'm monitoring it very closely.
So it probably isn't the feed?

Unless it is raw (not treated with heat) apple cider vinegar, don't waste your time or money. You'd be better off feeding them low-fat plain yogurt or probiotics meant for chickens. I even have my doubts about probiotic powders because you cannot account for fluctuations in temperatures during shipment, which can kill the probiotics.

That feed looks to be very suitable for chicks, so I agree with others that it's likely a different issue. Just keep cleaning their bums and they'll likely grow out of it it and if you can try the yogurt.

I have already given them yoghurt. They love it. It's Greek full fat though. We don't usually buy low fat. I've been wary of giving them too much so they haven't had a lot. I think our is raw apple cider vinegar. I'll go check. I think we have some specifically for chickens.
Thanks for your help. :D
It's not bothering either of them in any way. It's more me worrying it could get worse.
Also it could be the temperature. They are in my room and I keep changing it because they seem too warm. They don't even seem to need the heat and they're only just over 1 week old.
It's not even like it's warm weather where I am, it's been horrible.
I have given them a couple of tiny treats already...gave them the yoghurt a few times this past week and also some oats and a tiny bit of banana. They also caught some bugs outside. Their box has a tunnel going to another box. The second box has fresh earth in with some baby chick corn in. They've been scrabbling around. I am limiting their use of the chick corn as it's quite big and probably not the best thing for them.

I recently switched from using a lamp to a radiant heat plate "mother hen" and it was SO WORTH the extra money. With the lamp I was constantly making adjustments.

Just went in to the kitchen and it's on the side.
I'm positive we also have one that's actually for chickens. That should also be raw too right? I'll try find it. But this should also work?
We've often given it to our birds before. I'm using an egg cup for the chicks water right now, don't want to put too much in. Couple of drops?

That should work, but how old is it? The older the product the less likely the probiotics are still living.
