Hi, i recently switched my chickens to a laying feed. The problem is they wont eat it. Darn right refuse to. This went on for days. So now im back to feeding them the starter crumbles. Does anyone else have this problem, if so what did you do?

Is the layer in pellet form? Maybe that's what they're balking about. Try layer crumbles or mash.

I think your right. I went to TSC and found they carried both, so i bought some crumble layer food and am trying it now...

Nutritionally does it matter - pellets or crumble???? Seems easiest just to stick with crumble variety when I get to that stage if they are going to balk at it!

Some people prefer the pellets because for them it is less waste. Depends. If you are wanting to try a pellet you are wet it into a mash for the first few days and then slowly wet it less and less. They get used to it that way.
